Popolo Catering offers a wide variety of services to fit everyone’s catering needs. We understand that the type of event you are planning will determine the type of service you need. Whether you are looking for a lunch delivery for a meeting or you need a dinner buffet for a graduation party or full-serve formal catering for a wedding, we have an option for you! Popolo Catering offers unique catering a la carte options and amenities to our clients to help them customize an order that works best with their event needs. We are based out of San Luis Obispo, CA inside the Courtyard by Marriott, and have the ability to travel up and down the Central Coast of California. We’ve catered in Santa Barbara County and as far North as Big Sur providing a range of services. Casual Catering Service
Includes:
- Catering equipment (chafers, platters, serving utensils, dispensers, urns, etc.) for selected food items. We ask our clients to return these items to our office/kitchen located on the next business day after your event.
- Delivery service to the designated location.
- Help set up the food and catering equipment.
- Based on availability, choice of renting our dinnerware, flatware, and glassware.
Pricing:
- Drop-Off Fee, dependent on event location. Please see the above list of delivery fee prices.
- Catering Equipment Fee, dependent on guest count.

– 251-350: $500
- 8.75% CA State Sales Tax
- A credit card is required to be kept on file. The card will be charged for any broken, lost, or damaged equipment.
Formal Catering
Popolo Catering offers formal catering events with three options for meal service: Buffet, Family-Style, and Plated. For family-style and plated events, we will evaluate your venue to ensure we have a food-safe execution area that meets our needs. Below is the breakdown of what each type of dinner service includes and the cost.
Pricing:
All full service catered events will incur the following:
- 8.75% CA State Sales Tax
- 22% Catering Fee charge. The Popolo Catering Fee charge is 22% and is applied to all staffed events. This charge covers our Popolo staff members’ hourly wages, commercial liability insurance, the ability to additionally ensure venues for service, and the insurance, usage, and maintenance of our company equipment and vehicles to support your event.
Buffet Service Includes:
- Catering staff, number of staff dependent on guest count.
- Based on availability, choice of renting our dinnerware, flatware, and glassware.
- Set up buffet line(s) with our catering equipment.
- Setting table linens.
- Folding and placing your linen napkins. (Additional pricing may be charged depending on the napkin fold’s degree of difficulty, please inquire).
- Set up and clean up dinnerware, flatware, and glassware.
- Flexibility to make changes to your order up until two weeks before the date of your event.
Family-Style Service Includes:
- Catering staff, number of staff dependent on guest count.
- Based on availability, choice of renting our dinnerware, flatware, and glassware.
- Family-style meal service. We will tray pass the entree options and serve side dishes in serving bowls. Family-style service equipment is not included; we do have them available to rent based on availability.
- Setting table linens.
- Folding and placing your linen napkins. (Additional pricing may be charged depending on the napkin fold’s degree of difficulty, please inquire)
- Set up and clean up dinnerware, flatware, and glassware.
- Flexibility to make changes to your order up until two weeks before the date of your event.

- Folding and placing your linen napkins. (Additional pricing may be charged depending on the napkin fold’s degree of difficulty, please inquire)
- Set up and clean up dinnerware, flatware, and glassware.
- Choice of adding additional services to their order.
- Flexibility to make changes to your order up until two weeks before the date of your event.
